Our direct procurement activities in North America have been growing since 1975 when we first established our procurement office in New York. Our activities began with purchasing parts and materials for our heavy industrial products, however, in the past ten years, the main focus of our activities radically moved toward the high-tech area. To meet such new requirements, we opened our second procurement office in San Francisco in 1989.
We are very much interested in newly developed technologies which are being introduced into the market. Our procurement activities in this area consist of both software and hardware, telecommunications, networks, consumer devices, semiconductors, space technologies and medical applications, which can contribute to Hitachi's business expansion. We may participate in various stages from developing the design to purchasing final product. We greatly appreciate the contribution of entrepreneurs to the development of new technology and products and are always interested in developing mutually beneficial business relationships with any venture company which has promising technology and needs a reliable business partner. If you are interested in dealing with us, please contact our procurement offices, Alliances & Sourcing Division of Hitachi America, Ltd.
We have also been developing new suppliers of parts and materials for our heavy industrial products, such as power plants, rolling mills, chemical plants, compressors, rail transportation and elevators/escalators. We are always open to competitive proposals from new suppliers. Please do not hesitate to contact our procurement offices, Alliances & Sourcing Division of Hitachi America, Ltd.
